AESTHETIC SURVIVAL
Aesthetic Survival is a project born out of a desire to explore and document a culture that had long gone without an appreciative spotlight. Being especially prevalent in the North of Italy, Bivouacs have been a safe haven to Aurora for years now, so shining a light on such an under appreciated culture was of huge importance. Dissecting function, architecture, topography, and history in close collaboration with Hartcopy, Aesthetic Survival saw Aurora ascend to 20 bivouacs through Slovenia, Italy, and Switzerland. The resulting documentary examines bivouacs of varying ages and designs, presenting them in a slew of content streams both digital and physical, with the primary manifestation of the project being a hardcover, table topping, 220-page book that’s stocked globally in treasured retailers. Social media content was created in partnership with ON and Oakley, showcasing products on both a lifestyle and performance level.
(AR)OUND
Aurora’s first personal project since leaving full time employment as a stylist was (AR)OUND, an initiative built to challenge both herself and her growing community, and inspire them to get outdoors, all while quite literally travelling “around” the UK. Living out of a van for May of 2022, Aurora organised and orchestrated group events up and down Great Britain, stopping in major cities and connecting with the fledgling communities that were forming around the outdoors. Climbing days, both indoor and outdoor, hikes, and wild camping were only a handful of the activities brought about by (AR)OUND, with countless individuals brought together that remain friends to this day.
